In 1983, Issey Miyake’s Miyake Design Studio launched the collaborative line “Skyline.” The project was inspired by the Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette, which had achieved overwhelming victories at Fuji Speedway. Moved by both the car’s dynamic presence and the passion of the many staff members who contributed to its success, Miyake translated this spirit into fashion.
